World War II and Partisan Calogero Bracco Memorial

Calogero Bracco was born in Petralia Sottana on 29th October 1917. He joined the partisans, and on 1st June 1944 he enlisted in the Brigade Val Ellero to make his contribution to the Italian Resistance and to the liberation of the Country. Together with other brave young people, he carried out intense guerrilla actions designed to wear down the Nazi-Fascist forces and to facilitate the military operations of allied troops. He was shot to death in the territory of Cuneo after an atrocious torture.
